Good shooting star

Izzy had been very good, both mum and dad agreed

 

She had twinkled hard for many nights

She hadn’t stopped to see the sights 

She hadn’t chatted with the lights

 

A perfect star indeed.

 

“What do you want my darling? What would be nice for you?

 

“I want to shoot across the sky

To watch the worlds go flying by

To wave and twinkle as I fly..”

 

“Then that’s what you will do!”

 

 

That night everyone stood and watched, from bed the children peeping

 

She shot across the sky so bright

Streaking across with a sparkling light 

Then tired to bed after an exciting night

 

She smiled while she was sleeping
